    Description

    Red Superb Gem 1898 Cent

1898 1C MS67 Red PCGS. CAC. This 1898 cent is one of just seven rated as MS67 Red by PCGS with none in MS67+ or numerically finer grades (9/11), making it a coin of great importance to the Registry enthusiast; further, it is the only CAC-labeled MS67 Red example as of this writing, a further testament to how impressive it is. Certainly the coin looks every bit the Superb Gem, well-defined with subtly frosted high points and lush, slightly satiny copper-orange luster. Effectively unmarked to the unaided eye, though a shallow depression on Liberty's neck, just over the necklace and touching the hair ribbon, may serve as a future pedigree marker.(Registry values: N2998)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 228T, PCGS# 2201)

    Weight: 3.11 grams
