Description

1900 Indian Cent, MS66 Red
Fresh, Blazing Mint Luster

1900 1C MS66 Red PCGS. CAC. Thick mint frosty enlivens the coppery-red surfaces of this boldly struck Premium Gem Red 1900 cent. The preservation is outstanding, showing just a couple of microscopic grazes -- one on Liberty's neck near the jaw and the other in the field below the A in STATES -- limiting the grade. A loupe reveals two tiny specks near the lower reverse border, but they pale in comparison to the impressive visual appeal.

Population Data (4/15): Between PCGS and NGC, more than a hundred examples of this date grade MS66 Red, and a dozen are finer.

Heritage Commentary: The 1900 Indian cent does not become a true condition rarity in the Red color category until the MS67 level, but examples in lower grades see heightened demand due to the issue's popularity among type collectors.
