Description

1908 Indian Cent, MS67 Red
The Only PCGS-Graded Example

1908 1C MS67 Red PCGS. The Philadelphia Mint struck in excess of 32 million Indian cents in 1908, during the year when San Francisco struck its first meager complement of S-mint Indians, to the tune of only 1.1 million pieces. Nonetheless, the present 1908 Philadelphia cent is the only example at PCGS to attain the lofty MS67 Red assessment. The surfaces boast a sharp strike save for some bluntness on the 19 of the date -- likely a function of the large number struck -- but this piece shows near-perfect preservation amid brick-red color and no mentionable distractions.(Registry values: N2998)
