    1909-S Indian Cent, MS65 Red
    Final-Year S-Mint Issue

1909-S 1C MS65 Red PCGS. CAC. Eagle Eye Photo Seal, card not included. The San Francisco mint struck only 309,000 Indian cents in early 1909 before production ceased in favor of the new Lincoln variety. Due to the discontinuance of Longacre's Indian design, many examples of this low-mintage date were saved, though it is still significantly scarcer than the popular 1909-S VDB Lincoln cent. This well-preserved piece displays softly frosted orange-gold luster over each side, with no readily visible signs of carbon spotting. Some minor softness on the feather tips is typical of this issue, and often serves as a diagnostic for counterfeit detection. Housed in a green label holder. PCGS has awarded a Red designation to 20 numerically finer pieces (4/14).(Registry values: N2998)

The outcome of the auction far exceeded my best hopes and would not likely have been as successful with out your sound advice on where to present the coin and how best to set the reserve. Throughout the process your availability , support and knowledge were exceptional.
