Red Gem 1909-S Indian Cent
1909-S 1C MS65 Red PCGS. This Gem Mint State example rich orange luster blended with pale orange color on each side. It is typical of the issue with slightly weak definition at the feather tips. The final Indian cent issue had a limited mintage of just 309,000 coins, the lowest mintage of any Indian cent issue by a large margin. The next lowest mintage was the key-date 1877 cent, with more than double the production. Only a dozen finer examples of this date have been certified by PCGS (7/07).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2298, PCGS# 2240, GSID# 1466)
