Deeply Mirrored PR64 1859 Indian Cent
1859 1C PR64 PCGS. Always a popular coin because of its one-year type status, as well as having a low (but unknown) net mintage after 800 proofs were originally struck and an unknown number melted at year's end. The obverse is especially bright and is, in fact, very close to the original "white" color these coins had when new. The reverse displays a rich overlay of pale rose and olive patina. But what is perhaps most noticeable about this lovely coin is the incredible depth of reflectivity in the fields. Kept from the Gem category by the presence of a spot at the bottom of ES in STATES.From the Mark Van Deusen Collection.
