    1864-L Indian Cent, MS66 Red and Brown

    1864 1C L On Ribbon MS66 Red and Brown NGC. Rarely encountered in such a superior state of preservation, the 1864-L is collectible in all grades and always brings a premium even though some 34 million pieces were struck. Like many 1864-L cents, this piece shows slight "woodgrain" surfaces. The devices are outlined with bright red mint luster, while the fields and more exposed areas show even, dark brown patina. Fully struck in all areas. Census: 21 in 66, 0 finer (7/06).
