Scarce Red Near-Gem Proof 1865 Indian Cent

1865 1C PR64 Red PCGS. Plain 5. Snow-PR2. A pleasing coin for the grade with strong mint red color and minimal signs of age. We note a few lint marks (as struck) on and near the A of STATES, and another very small one near Liberty's nose. Faint specks can be seen when examined under a strong light. There is a very small die lump on Liberty's neck just touching the ribbon, something quite unusual for a proof coin. Population: 14 in 64 Red, 9 finer (10/07). (Registry values: N2998)
