    Description

    1869/69 Indian Cent, MS66 Brown
    Snow-3d, FS-301

1869/69 1C Snow-3d, FS-301, MS66 Brown PCGS. This reverse is easily attributed by the short horizontal die crack to the left of the shield. Repunching on the 9 is especially prominent and it is easy to see why these coins were considered 9/8 overdates for so many years. This piece will surprise many viewers, not just because of the clean, problem-free surfaces but from the significant remnants of original mint red on each side (especially the obverse). Fully struck with complete definition on the upper feathers of the headdress. Population: 3 in 66 Brown, 0 finer (10/18).
Ex: Houston Signature (Heritage, 11/2007), lot 60058, where it brought $3,450.
