    1907 Indian Cent, MS67+ Red
Surprisingly Scarce in the Finer Grades
The Sole Finest Example of the Date

1907 1C MS67+ Red PCGS. As pointed out by Dave Bowers, true Gem Indian cents from 1900-1909 are very elusive, as they were not saved like the dates were from 1880 through 1899. The late John Pittman once charged Bowers with finding him a true Gem 1907. We believe that John would have liked this particular coin as it has rich, warm red color over each side and is virtually flawless, with only the tiniest flecks of carbon visible beneath a glass. Exceptional overall quality. This is the only Superb Gem Red 1907 Indian cent with a Plus designation from either service. Population: 5 in 67 (1 in 67+) Red, 0 finer (10/19).(Registry values: N2998)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2294, PCGS# 2228)

    Weight: 3.11 grams
