    1907 Indian Ten, MS66+
First-Year Type, No Periods, No Motto

1907 $10 No Periods MS66+ PCGS. CAC. Saint-Gaudens Indian design was introduced on the U.S. ten dollar gold coin in 1907. The No Periods version actually was the third attempt to utilize this beautiful design on the denomination, after the limited mintage Wire Rim and Rolled Edge designs were deemed unsuitable for mass production. The No Periods motifs were well-suited to high-speed coinage but, like its double eagle counterpart, the 1907 eagle design did not include the motto IN GOD WE TRUST. Public outcry resulted in the addition of the motto the following year, creating an important short-lived design type for collectors.

This high-end Premium Gem exhibits the well-detailed design elements usually seen on this issue. The well-preserved orange and rose-gold surfaces radiate vibrant mint luster on both sides and eye appeal is tremendous. PCGS has graded only seven numerically finer examples (6/13).(Registry values: N4719)
