1907 $10 Wire Rim--Improperly Cleaned--NGC Details. AU. Only 500 examples of this rare prototype Indian eagle variety were struck. Unlike the examples coined in quantity for circulation, there are periods before and after the words in E PLURIBUS UNUM. The Wire Rim is not to be confused with the even rarer Rounded Rim variety, which also has periods in all reverse legends. This Wire Rim example is hairlined and a bit bright from cleaning, and the surfaces display minute ticks, especially on the left reverse field.
