Famous 1907 Wire Rim Saint-Gaudens Ten
1907 $10 Wire Rim MS61 PCGS. CAC. With an official mintage
of just 500 pieces (and perhaps 472 net released), the Wire Rim ten
dollar is one of the most elusive commonly collected Saint-Gaudens
eagles -- and one of the most popular. The wire edge on this MS61
example contrasts with the striking softness on the high points,
where the Mint's production facilities could not keep up with the
technical demands placed on it by the early Saint-Gaudens design.
Orange-kissed yellow-gold surfaces also show areas of pale lavender
accenting the margins. A pinscratch back from the corner of
Liberty's mouth defines the grade, though the reverse presents a
much cleaner appearance. Housed in a green label holder.(Registry
values: N4719) (NGC ID# 26F2, PCGS# 8850)

The Coinage of Augustus Saint-Gaudens is an issue-by-issue examination of these two artistically inspired series of gold coins.
Each date and mintmark is reviewed with up-to-date information, much of which has never been previously published. The book is based on
two extraordinary collections: The Phillip H. Morse collection and the Dr. and Mrs. Steven L. Duckor collection.
