1908 $10 Motto MS67 NGC. Minimal marks appear on each side of this brilliant and highly lustrous example that features frosty mint surfaces and bold design motifs. This present 1908 issue represents the second year of the Indian Head design, and the first year with motto IN GOD WE TRUST on the reverse. Working with guidance from President Theodore Roosevelt, Augustus Saint-Gaudens created the Indian eagle design without this motto, as Roosevelt had personal reservations about its presence on national coinage. A 1908 Congressional act reversed his objection, and the motto was added to the reverse midway through the year. The present offering is a near-unimprovable example of this issue.
