Description

1909-S Saint-Gaudens Eagle, MS65
Lemon-Yellow and Lilac Accents
Scarce in This High Grade

1909-S $10 MS65 PCGS. This early San Francisco ten dollar issue claims an unassuming mintage of 292,350 coins. However, like so many other dates in the Saint-Gaudens eagle series, it is scarce at the Gem level and rare any finer. Accents of natural lemon-yellow and lavender complement thickly frosted orange-gold surfaces. There are a few small ticks on each side, none of which detract, and design detail is bold with localized incompleteness on Liberty's middle curls and the eagle's shoulder. Housed in a green label holder. Population: 26 in 65 (1 in 65+), 8 finer (4/22).
