    Description

    1910-D Indian Eagle, Scarce MS66
    Beautifully Patinated

1910-D $10 MS66 PCGS. CAC. Nearly 2.4 million eagles were struck at the Denver Mint in 1910, the second highest mintage of the series behind the 1932. The majority of the mintage was melted during the 1930s, but sufficient numbers survived in America and overseas to satisfy collector demand, at least through the near-Gem level. Gems are more difficult to locate, and Premium Gems such as the present offering are scarce. Higher-grade pieces are virtually unobtainable.

A melange of beautiful apricot-gold, rose, lavender, lime-green, and ice-blue coloration resides on the radiantly lustrous surfaces. The design features exhibit sharp detail and neither side reveals mentionable contact. These attributes add up to outstanding eye appeal, appropriately recognized by CAC. Housed in a green label holder. Population: 33 in 66 (7 in 66+), 1 finer (11/13).(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 28GS, PCGS# 8866)

The Coinage of Augustus Saint-Gaudens as Illustrated by the Morse and Duckor Collections
Revised Edition by James L. Halperin, Mark R. Borckardt, Mark Van Winkle, Jon Amato, and Gregory J. Rohan, with special contributor David W. Akers

The Coinage of Augustus Saint-Gaudens is an issue-by-issue examination of these two artistically inspired series of gold coins. Each date and mintmark is reviewed with up-to-date information, much of which has never been previously published. The book is based on two extraordinary collections: The Phillip H. Morse collection and the Dr. and Mrs. Steven L. Duckor collection.
