Description

Key AU58 1911-D Indian Eagle

1911-D $10 AU58 NGC. The 1911-D quarter eagles, half eagles, and eagles all had low mintages within their series, but of the three, the Indian eagle had the lowest by far, at 30,100 pieces. The 1911-D is thus a key to the series, along with the 1913-S and the near-unobtainable 1933. This near-Mint example shows orange-gold surfaces overall with a hint of smoky-gold on the high points and in the fields. Abrasions are minimal, with the sole exception of a tiny rim tick on the obverse at 3:30, and much appeal beckons bidders.(Registry values: N1793)
