Description

1911-S Indian Ten, MS63
Elusive Low-Mintage Issue

1911-S $10 MS63 NGC. The 1911-S Indian eagle is an elusive issue, from a small mintage of 51,000 pieces. This attractive Select specimen features sharp design elements and lustrous orange-gold surfaces, with rose highlights. Only a few minor contact marks are evident. Any attractive Mint State example of this San Francisco issue is scarce and desirable. PCGS lists a number of submissions in the MS62 to MS64 grade range, but there is likely much duplication in these figures. Most of the Uncirculated 1911-S tens that we have seen graded no finer than MS62. Census: 7 in 63, 27 finer (5/23).
