Description

Gem 1912 Indian Eagle
Pleasing Yellow-Gold Color

1912 $10 MS65 NGC. A large mintage of 405,000 Indian eagles was achieved at the Philadelphia Mint in 1912, making the date easy to locate in lower Uncirculated grades, and a reasonable choice for type collectors. The issue becomes scarce at the Gem level, and higher grades are nothing short of rare. The present coin exhibits bright yellow-gold surfaces, with hints of green at the rims and outlining the devices. The design elements are sharply rendered and rich, frosty luster enhances the considerable eye appeal. Census: 61 in 65, 17 finer (7/10).(Registry values: N4719)
