Description
Gorgeous MS64+ 1912-S Ten Dollar
1912-S $10 MS64+ PCGS. CAC. The 1912-S issue's mintage of 300,000 pieces is "neutral" in Saint-Gaudens eagle terms, neither type coin material nor a rarity on the order of other mintmarked dates. Its condition rarity, by contrast, is unambiguous beyond a "plain" MS64 designation, as MS64+ and better coins are highly elusive. This is one such coin, slightly dusky but warmly lustrous with a distinctly orange cast to the surfaces. A single abrasion at up and to the right from the corner of Liberty's mouth is the sole mentionable flaw; without it, this coin would be a no-questions Gem. Population: 14 in 64+, 9 finer (1/12).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 28GX, PCGS# 8872, Greysheet# 9768)
Weight: 16.72 grams
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
