Description

1913-S Eagle, MS63
Vibrant Original Luster

1913-S $10 MS63 PCGS. Once believed to be scarcer, the 1913-S Indian eagle is still nearly as scarce as the key-date 1911-D, and Garrett and Guth write that "Any Indian Head eagle collection would be truly defined by the presence of both a 1913-S and a 1911-D." Mint State survivors of the San Francisco issue are elusive in all grades, and become genuinely rare even as low as the MS63 level. This representative displays original orange-gold luster overall, with a pleasing level definition on the central devices. Scattered abrasions define the grade, though none are individually detracting. Population: 28 in 63, 16 finer (5/14).(Registry values: N4719)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 28GZ, PCGS# 8874, Greysheet# 9769)
