Richly Lustrous Near-Gem 1914 Eagle

1914 $10 MS64 PCGS. CAC. This issue, produced at the outset of hostilities of the First World War, is available today in grades up to the Premium Gem level, and most are well-produced. This near-Gem displays the excellent production standards the issue is known for, with rich, thick mint luster over copious amounts of reddish-orange color tinged with lilac on the high points. Only a couple of stray ticks are in keeping with the grade. PCGS has certified 37 pieces finer (8/10).(Registry values: N2998)
