Description

    Superb Gem 1914-D Eagle

1914-D $10 MS67 NGC. One of the finest known of this date and tied with a total of nine examples with none seen finer by either grading service. The surfaces are bathed in frosty luster and the strike is sharp. Examination will find a few faint nicks behind Liberty's eye and a couple of trivial luster grazes on her headdress, but these are minor and not distracting. Identifiable by a tiny grease mark between the OD of GOD. Although this date is not a famous rarity in this series, in this lofty grade it has all the rarity and desirability one could hope to find. The regal quality of the surfaces matches the imperial design elements and they combine to create one of America's most visually appealing designs ever struck for circulation. A stunning example of this date and mint, and a coin worthy of even the finest collection. Census: 6 in 67, 0 finer (3/06).(Registry values: N7079) (NGC ID# 28H3, PCGS# 8876)
