Description
1916-S Ten Dollar, MS62
A Popular S-Mint Issue
1916-S $10 MS62 PCGS. The S-mint series of ten dollar
Indians is a very scarce one. To underscore how difficult it is,
the 1916-S is the most readily available issue. And its
"availability" is only because of a couple of small hoards that
were dispersed in the late 1970s. This piece has subdued mint frost
and there are several flecks of grease on each side that were
struck into the coin at the time of production. The obverse is
sharply struck while there is localized softness at the top of the
eagle's wing on the reverse.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 28H7, PCGS# 8880, GSID# 9773)
