    Description

    Lustrous 1932 Gem ten Dollar

1932 $10 MS65 PCGS. The 1932, with a mintage of 4,463,000 pieces, is the most common Indian Head eagle in Mint State, and is the commonest issue in Gem condition. PCGS and NGC combined have certified well over 50,000 coins in Uncirculated grades, around which 2,000 or so fall into the Gem and better category (9/05). Even after accounting for resubmissions, there are obviously enough pieces available for the collector market. The present MS65 coin displays radiant luster and shades of peach and orange-gold patina and subtle greenish undertones. A few minute alloy spots occur over each side. The design elements are sharply struck throughout. Some minute marks that are consistent with the grade level are noted over each side.

The Coinage of Augustus Saint-Gaudens as Illustrated by the Morse and Duckor Collections
Revised Edition by James L. Halperin, Mark R. Borckardt, Mark Van Winkle, Jon Amato, and Gregory J. Rohan, with special contributor David W. Akers

The Coinage of Augustus Saint-Gaudens is an issue-by-issue examination of these two artistically inspired series of gold coins. Each date and mintmark is reviewed with up-to-date information, much of which has never been previously published. The book is based on two extraordinary collections: The Phillip H. Morse collection and the Dr. and Mrs. Steven L. Duckor collection.
