Description
1908 Half Eagle, MS66
Gorgeous Luster
1908 $5 MS66 NGC. Regardless of date or original mintage, no
Indian half eagle issue is readily available in better-than-Gem
condition. The 1908 half eagle, despite being a condition rarity in
MS66, is among the more accessible dates in the series and suitable
for type collectors as well as design completionists. Apricot-gold
surfaces have even luster, satiny and semireflective with a touch
of swirl. Central detail is well-impressed, though the pendants of
the necklace are soft, and aside from a couple of disturbances in
the chin area, each side presents as smooth. Census: 17 in 66 (1 in
66+), 5 finer (6/13).(Registry values: N7079)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 28DE, PCGS# 8510, Greysheet# 9308)
Weight: 8.36 grams
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
