Description
1908-S Indian Five, MS64+
CAC Approved
1908-S $5 MS64+ PCGS. CAC. This lovely Choice Mint State
example, nearly of Gem quality, features sharp design definition
and brilliant honey-gold luster. A trivial ebony inclusion just
right of the B in LIBERTY should be sufficient to identify this
half eagle. Trivial marks above the motto on the reverse will
assist in pedigree research. The 82,000-coin mintage of this
first-year issue in San Francisco is the third lowest production of
any Indian half eagle behind the 1909-O (34,200) and the 1911-D
(72,500). This piece is one of 22 PCGS submissions graded MS64+
with only 76 finer examples. CAC: 28 in 64, 15 finer
(7/25).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 28DG, PCGS# 8512, GSID# 9318)
