Description
Pleasing Gem 1908-S Half Eagle
1908-S $5 MS65 PCGS. The useful Garrett-Guth Gold Encyclopedia (2006) comments regarding this issue, "If a single coin is desired from this series, this date and mint should be considered for the overall quality and availability." This Gem piece does not disappoint in that respect, offering problem-free surfaces with deep, mellow orange-gold color, essentially no abrasions, and excellent overall eye appeal. The strike is also fairly well executed, save for light softness near the lower obverse border. Population: 37 in 65, 20 finer (11/06).From The Kutasi Collection.(Registry values: N7079)
