Description
1909-O Indian Half Eagle, AU50 Details
Challenging New Orleans Issue
1909-O $5 -- Mount Removed, Damaged, Tooled, Cleaned -- ANACS.
AU50 Details. Winter-1. ANACS tossed the book at this piece.
The conglomerate of impairments amounts to a butter-gold coin with
satiny surfaces cast in myriad lines and abrasions. Detail remains
firmly in the AU level, and the mintmark, though weak, is
discernible. The 1909-O Indian half eagle comes from a scant
mintage of 34,200 coins and ranks as the rarest date in the series
in high grade. This piece is a more accessible option for the
budget-conscious collector.
Note for clients in the European Union: This lot is considered by the European Union to be “investment gold”. We believe that it meets the criteria established in Article 344(1), point (2) of Council Directive 2006/112/EC and thus should be exempt from import VAT regardless of the selling price. Any questions or concerns about VAT should be addressed to your accountant or local tax authority.
