Description
Pursued XF 1909-O Five Dollar
1909-O $5 XF40 ICG. The 1909-O is the lowest mintage issue of any Bela Lyon Pratt design, and was the first New Orleans Mint half eagle struck since 1894. It was also the final gold issue, since the facility reverted to assay office status the same year. This is a moderately circulated and luminous tan-gold example with ample design detail. The mintmark is low relief but its narrow oval center is obvious.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25ZK, PCGS# 8515, GSID# 9320)
