1909-S $5 MS62 PCGS. CAC. The 1909-S Indian Head half eagle is a challenging date, with a low mintage of 297,200 pieces. According to David Akers, "Even low-grade Mint State examples are seldom encountered." The present coin is an attractive MS62 example, with orange-gold surfaces, good mint luster, and strongly impressed devices. Population: 72 in 62, 40 finer (8/10).(Registry values: N2998)
