1909-S $5 MS63 PCGS. Four mints struck half eagles in 1909, the first such occurrence since 1861. Although the 1909-O gets all the attention, the 1909-S is also a better date, especially in Mint State. This is a well struck and lustrous example that has pumpkin-gold toning with glimpses of peripheral olive-green. Marks are minor for the designated grade. Encapsulated in a green label holder.
