Conditionally Rare California Issue
1909-S $5 MS64 PCGS. CAC. The San Francisco Mint coined

third rarest in grades of MS60 or better. Indeed, there are only
six numerically finer examples at PCGS, plus two more at NGC.This near-Gem is high-end for the grade. It boasts frosty luster over warm golden-orange surfaces. The headdress and eagle's feathers are razor-sharp, as is the rest of the Pratt sunken-relief design. Ticks are minimal. Population: 21 in 64 (6 in 64+), 6 finer. CAC: 8 in 64, 2 finer (12/22).(Registry values: N7079)
