Description
1911 Half Eagle, MS66
A Top-Graded Survivor
The Finest We Have Offered
1911 $5 MS66 NGC. From a production standpoint, there was
never anything much to suggest that the 1911 half eagle would
become a condition rarity. The Mint struck 915,000 pieces, and
examples are available by the thousands through Choice Uncirculated
condition. However, the population declines rapidly at the Gem
grade level, and NGC and PCGS have only certified two MS66
submissions each with none finer (9/19).This important Premium Gem exhibits pinpoint strike detail on the headdress and eagle. Warm yellow-gold surfaces awash in soft mint luster display a minimal number of inconsequential ticks. This lot should generate considerable interest as the single finest example Heritage Auctions has presented over the past quarter century.(Registry values: N7079)
