    Description

Conditionally Rare 1914 Indian Five Dollar Gold

1914 $5 MS65 NGC. A quaint and delicately frosted Gem example of Pratt's curious incuse design. This specimen typifies the effulgent reddish-gold color that collectors often see on this P-mint issue. As one would expect, the mint used powerful striking pressure on this example to draw forth even the smallest particular. The fields and devices are placid but it is possible to isolate a few small abrasions that are only visible under close examination. A scarce, though available, gold piece that type collectors strongly favor. Population: 8 in 65, 1 finer (4/04).
