Description

Sharply Struck 1914-D Near-Gem Five Dollar

1914-D $5 MS64 NGC. CAC. Brass-gold surfaces exhibit pleasing luster, and a well executed strike delivers sharp detail to the design features. Minute contact marks in the raised exposed fields of the reverse preclude Gem classification. This issue is available through near-Gem, but the population falls off drastically at the Gem level.(Registry values: N4719)
