Description
1914-D Half Eagle, MS65
Seldom Offered in This Grade
1914-D $5 MS65 PCGS. Both the 1914 Philadelphia half eagle
and the 1914-D Denver issue have the identical mintage (each
247,000 pieces) -- an unusual coincidence, with both issues
surviving in similar quantities. This Gem Uncirculated 1914-D
displays vibrant mint luster with variegated color ranging from
lilac-silver to olive-gold accents to varying intensities of
orange-gold. A sharp strike provides outstanding eye appeal that is
well-deserving of the assigned MS65 grade. This Denver issue is
notably scarce at the Gem level and a great rarity any finer. PCGS
Population: 20 in 65 (2 in 65+), 3 finer (5/25).(Registry values: N7079)From The Rockhampton Collection.
