Description

Antique-Gold 1914-S Five Dollar, MS62
High-End for the Grade

1914-S $5 MS62 PCGS. CAC. The MS62 grade is fairly typical for the 1914-S half eagle, as the average survivor only grades about AU58, and Gems are quite rare. This example shows high-end appeal, with antique-gold surfaces displaying frosty luster and an excellent strike. Some stray ticks on the Indian's face and a couple of tiny gray spots near the obverse rim account for the grade. PCGS has certified only 24 pieces finer (6/10).(Registry values: N2998)
