    Description

    1914-S Indian Half Eagle, MS63
    Scarce Issue in High Grade

1914-S $5 MS63 NGC. The 1914-S is the most challenging Indian five to locate in near-Gem or finer conditions, making this MS63 example a logical alternative. While the issue seldom has strong eye appeal, its scarcity leaves few alternatives. The strike is bold on this Select Uncirculated coin, with soft luster supporting deep, orange-gold color. Areas of mint grime suggest prolonged bag storage, as do a pair of marks at BY of LIBERTY and another at the upper reverse legend. The mintmark is slightly misshapen but readable. Census: 19 in 63, 7 finer (10/19).(Registry values: N4719)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 28DW, PCGS# 8529)

    Weight: 8.36 grams

    Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
