Description
Shimmering Gem 1915 Half Eagle
1915 $5 MS65 NGC. The Indian quarter and half eagles present special challenges to condition-conscious collectors, because the fields and high points of the devices are exposed equally. The 1915 half eagle, despite a mintage of more than half a million pieces, is a borderline condition rarity in the MS65 band and unavailable any finer (1/12). This Gem shimmers when turned in the light, its apricot-accented yellow-gold luster subtly frosted. Both sides have solidly defined devices, including fully outlined pendants on the necklace, and the surfaces are smooth with few marks of any seriousness.(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 28DX, PCGS# 8530, Greysheet# 9315)
