Description
1915 Indian Five, MS65+
Unknown in Higher Grades
1915 $5 MS65+ PCGS. The 1915 Indian half eagle is a
reasonably available date in most grades, from a mintage of 588,000
pieces. Examples in Gem condition are very scarce and, curiously,
the issue is unknown in any higher grade. The present coin is a high-end Gem, with sharply detailed design elements. The often troublesome area of the lower headdress feathers exhibits fine detail on this coin. The surfaces show only minor signs of contact, with vivid orange-gold color. Mint luster is frosty and vibrant, and eye appeal is outstanding. Population: 2 in 65+, 0 finer (5/11).(Registry values: N4719)
Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 28DX, PCGS# 8530, Greysheet# 9315)
Weight: 8.36 grams
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
