Description
1915 Half Eagle, MS65
Rarely Seen Finer
1915 $5 MS65 PCGS. The 1911-1913 Indian half eagle issues
from the Philadelphia Mint are each among the most available issues
of the series up to the Gem level, a function of their overall
high-quality production values. Most are well-struck with excellent
luster over fine-grained surfaces. This 1915 half eagle in Gem
condition shows many of the same qualities, but it is considerably
more elusive in MS65 than the dates mentioned above. The
orange-tinted surfaces on this piece are exemplary: boldly struck
with full glowing luster and only a few tiny marks away from the
prime focal points. Population: 77 in 65 (10 in 65+), 1 finer
(10/23).Ex: FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2013), lot 5890.(Registry values: N4719)
Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 28DX, PCGS# 8530, Greysheet# 9315)
Weight: 8.36 grams
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
