Description

1915-S Five Dollar Gold, MS62
Challenging in Mint State Grades

1915-S $5 MS62 NGC. This strike-challenged MS62 half eagle lacks full detail on the lower feathers. However, the mintmark is completely outlined. Myriad marks prevent a higher grade for this example that displays medium yellow luster. NGC has certified 124 submissions in MS62 or MS62+, but only 31 finer examples through MS65 (12/24).(Registry values: N2998)
