    Description

    1916-S Indian Five, MS64
    Lustrous and Original

1916-S $5 MS64 PCGS. The only half eagle struck in 1916, the '16-S Indian five is a widely sought-after date. However, collectors of Mint State coins typically only see bagmarked pieces grading MS63 or lower. Choice examples are scarce, and anything finer is rare. This is glowing near-Gem with frosty mint luster. Rich fiery-orange hues around the margins surround lilac-gold interiors, delivering exceptional eye appeal. The strike is well-executed, and the surfaces are devoid of major abrasions. Eye appeal surpasses that of many pieces in this grade. PCGS has seen 17 numerically finer submissions, mostly in MS65 (7/16). This is an accessible coin that will fit in well with an otherwise Gem-graded collection.

The marketing was exceptional from the photos to the ads in Civil War Times and North South Trader for the cross over people!!! I have had many emails from my Civil War collecting fraternity that saw these and I saw them at the national show in Nashville/Franklin in early December.
