    Description

Richly Colored 1916-S Indian Five, MS63 PCGS

1916-S $5 MS63 PCGS. Most Mint State representatives of this date are from a hoard of approximately 200 pieces that entered the numismatic market several years ago. With finely granular luster and crisp striking definition, this coin may be from that hoard. On the other hand, most hoard coins display green-gold and/or orange-gold color, but this Select representative is richly toned in reddish-gold shades. Regardless of how this coin survived with relatively few abrasions, it is an important Select quality representative of this conditionally challenging S-mint Half Eagle.

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 28DY, PCGS# 8532)

The outcome of the auction far exceeded my best hopes and would not likely have been as successful with out your sound advice on where to present the coin and how best to set the reserve. Throughout the process your availability , support and knowledge were exceptional.
