    Description

Heavily Melted 1929 Half Eagle MS63

1929 $5 MS63 PCGS. A typically lustrous yellow-gold representative. The 1929 Half Eagle is a well documented scarcity that was extensively melted in the 1930s. Most of the normally Mint State survivors that are available to today's collector surfaced from European holdings. The present example displays immediate eye appeal, but is kept at the Select level by a few small facial marks on the Native American.
From The Barry Donnell Collection. (#8533) (Registry values: N4719)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 28E2, PCGS# 8533)
