    1908 Half Eagle, MS65
    Luminous Orange-Gold Surfaces

1908 $5 MS65 PCGS. Ex: Larry Shapiro / Harbor View. The 1908 is generally regarded as a plentiful type coin. Indeed, it is one of the more collectible Pratt half eagles in Gem condition. However, one would encounter considerable difficulty in trying to upgrade this MS65 representative. Design detail is crisp aside from the eagle's wing tip. Softly lustrous orange-gold surfaces appear virtually unmarked on the obverse and show only trivial flecks in the reverse field. PCGS reports 25 higher-graded submissions (11/18).(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 28DE, PCGS# 8510)
