    Description

    1909-O Half Eagle, AU Details
    Scarce, Important Key Issue

1909-O $5 -- Reverse Planchet Flaw -- NCS. AU Details. The scant mintage of 34,200 pieces for this O-mint product is easily the lowest in the series, making it a contested key date at any grade level. In addition, it is the sole Indian Head issue from the New Orleans mint facility, further increasing its importance to collectors. This example is well-detailed with smooth surfaces and a pleasing overall appearance. A planchet lamination on the reverse extends from the rim through the left side of M in AMERICA and diagonally down into the field just above the eagle's right (facing) wing.
