Description
1908 Two and a Half, MS65
First Year Indian Head Issue
1908 $2 1/2 MS65 NGC. The inaugural Bela Lyon Pratt quarter
eagle design's 564,800-piece 1908 mintage caused an upswell among
the collecting public and many pieces were saved. This Gem
Uncirculated example is well-preserved with frosty luster and only
minor weakness at the eagle's upper wing -- a die-making defect
that was corrected in subsequent years. Attractive wheat-gold color
and nearly mark-free surfaces confirm the well-deserved MS65
grade.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 288Y, PCGS# 7939, Greysheet# 8603)
