Description
Satiny 1908 Quarter Eagle, Premium Gem Uncirculated
1908 $2 1/2 MS66 PCGS. Although the 1908 two and a half is a relatively common date in the Indian quarter eagle series, finding Premium Gem Uncirculated or better examples can be challenging, especially when the eye appeal of an offering is nicer than one would expect for the assigned technical grade. This amber-gold piece is blanketed in rich, satiny luster and boasts pleasing, distraction-free surfaces. The resulting aesthetic qualities of this example exceeds what is typically encountered at the MS66 grade level and the next owner will likely view this coin as unimprovable for the issue. Only two examples have been graded finer as of (8/08) by PCGS.(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 288Y, PCGS# 7939, GSID# 8603)
